Vladimir Valentekovich, known to many as "Vlad", has been an integral part of our police department and community as a Palos Verdes Estates Reserve Police Officer for the past 15 years.

Recently, Vlad received the difficult diagnosis of Stage 4 prostate cancer. Despite this challenging news, Vlad is facing this battle with the same strength and determination he has shown throughout his tenure with the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

Throughout his career, Vlad has tirelessly served our community, working patrol shifts, participating in departmental warrant services, and serving as one of our primary firearm instructors. His dedication has been invaluable, from training new officers in firearm safety to leading active shooter trainings in our local schools.

Now, as Vlad undergoes state-of-the-art treatments and therapies, we stand together as a community and his law enforcement family to support him and his family during this challenging time. The Palos Verdes Police Officers Association is raising funds to assist the Valentekovich family as they focus on Vlad's health and well-being.

We urge you to consider contributing to this cause and helping to alleviate the financial burdens that come with fighting cancer. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in Vlad's journey toward recovery.

I’ve had stg 4 colon cancer for the last five years. We radiate it, chemo. It goes away. Then it comes back and we repeat. It’s scary and problematic, but it sure beats the alternative and I try to just look at all this time as extra innings. Chin up and best of luck Vlad! Prayer seems to have a lot of positive effect.

We donated because we appreciate our PVEPD and have personal experience with Stage 4 cancer too. We wish Vlad well and hope he has the benefit of care at City of Hope — Duarte campus. I’ll see you there! Cynthia
