Critical Incident

Trooper Derrick Waters, THP stationed in Katy was on a traffic stop in Harris County, when a DWI driver struck him and then fled the scene. The DWI driver was later apprehended. Trooper Waters was transported to Hermann Memorial in Houston in critical condition with head trauma, lacerations, and broken bones. He has been upgraded to stable but will require some rehabilitation due to his injuries.

DPS Troopers Foundation has started a Help-a-Hero campaign for Trooper Waters. If you are able, please donate.  Help-a-Hero charges a fee upfront. 100% of the money raised will go to Trooper Waters. Continued prayers for Trooper Waters recovery and his family are needed as well.

I am a brother in blue and support law enforcement. In addition, the Trooper is family and is very deserving of the support from his community!
