Trooper Arreguin has proudly served with the Texas Department of Public Safety since August 2023, earning a positive reputation for his work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to help others. Beyond his service, he is a devoted husband and father to three young children, ages 2, 4, and 6. Unfortunately, this past year has brought tremendous challenges for the Arreguin family. On April 14, 2025, Trooper Arreguin’s father passed away after a battle with stage 4 colon cancer, and just months later, on July 20, 2025, his wife Megan was diagnosed with Osteochondroma, a painful and debilitating condition. Once an active mother and the leader of a nonprofit organization (Saving Animals Lives 24-7), Megan is now largely bedridden and requires a walker to move. With Megan unable to work and their children so young, the full responsibility of providing for the family falls on Trooper Arreguin. Despite his dedication and tireless work, the financial burden of ongoing medical treatments and appointments has become overwhelming, leaving the family with over $20,000 in uncovered medical expenses.
The DPS Troopers Foundation is raising money to assist the Arreguin family through Help a Hero Campaign. Help a Hero charges a fee up front, 100% of funds will go to the family. The DPSTF is a 501c3 and any donation to the foundation is tax deductible.
