On July 1, 2026 Trooper First Class Michael Pahira, Jr. was struck and killed by a commercial motor vehicle during a traffic stop in Cass Township, Schuylkill County. 

Trooper Pahira, Jr. was a dedicated member of the Pennsylvania State Police and his commitment to protect his community reflects the highest ideals of our profession. His service to the Commonwealth will long be remembered by those lives he touched. His sacrifice is not in vain. He set the bar high for those who continue to serve. 

Our law enforcement community stands united in mourning the loss of Trooper Pahira, Jr. Any donation to the family he leaves behind will be deeply appreciated.
