Dan Beutel, an approximately 18-year veteran of Mesa PD who medically retired in 2018 is currently facing an unexpected, sudden and very serious health condition known as Glioblastoma.
Glioblastoma is a rare malignant (cancerous) tumor affecting the brain and/or spine, which grows and spreads rapidly. Although there is no cure for Glioblastoma, treatment to help control the symptoms may include: radiation, chemotherapy and surgery.

Dan is married with a son and two stepchildren. His wife is both attending nursing school and working to support the family. Dan has been unable to work for some time and is now facing financial challenges due to this illness.
