On December 18, 2025, we tragically lost our brother, Michael Swope, in an off-duty accident. Michael was a charismatic individual with a great sense of humor who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. At work, he was a dedicated firefighter, paramedic, and Field Training Officer who took pride in mentoring others and serving his community. At home, he was a loving husband and a devoted father whose family meant everything to him.

Right now, the Swope family is facing an unimaginable loss at a moment when the absence of a loved one is felt the most. As fire fighters, we believe in taking care of our own, not just on the job, but when it matters most.

The Lewisville Fire Fighters Foundation is asking for your support. Your donation will go directly toward helping Michael’s wife and children as they navigate the days ahead, easing the financial burden so they can focus on healing and being together.

Please consider donating today. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a powerful show of support and a reminder to the Swope family that they are not alone.

Tax Deductibility & Donation Processing

The Lewisville Fire Fighters Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Help a Hero is serving solely as the secure donation processing platform for this fundraiser. Donations are made on behalf of, and credited directly to, the Lewisville Fire Fighters Foundation, and donors receive applicable tax benefits through our Foundation’s EIN.

I am a firefighter in DFW. After finishing the academy at NCTC, I rode out with Lewisville FD. I appreciated all of them, and I hope that your family experiences the love and peace of Christ during this time. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

I was a pregnant widow at 29 yrs old. The generosity of others lifted an immediate financial burden & allowed me to focus on the grieving process & my unborn child. A sudden loss at such a young age is an overwhelming situation. When a community pulls together it can be life changing. I give because I was given to in a tragic time of need. Once GOD pulled me through I promised I would help others in return when able. Praying for you, your children & your family.

Michael responded to a call at our nonprofit day program for adults with developmental disabilities and handled the situation with the upmost care, support, and dignity for the individual. He shared his connection with the IDD community with me, and it was clear that he took his role as advocate seriously in both his personal and professional life. That impact will certainly continue to be felt by those he interacted with, worked with, and treated.
