Our son, Cainan, has spent his entire adult life serving and protecting others. For 17 years, he has proudly served as a Fort Worth police officer. He is a devoted husband to Haley and a proud father to his 16-year-old son, Kingston. Everything he does is rooted in his love for his family and his unwavering commitment to his community.

Both Cainan and Haley have dedicated their lives to serving others, not only through their careers in law enforcement, but through their actions outside of work. They have organized fundraisers, helped families in crisis, supported those facing hardship, and stood beside people in their darkest moments. They have never asked for recognition. They simply show up, again and again, because that is who they are.

Now, they need us to show up for them.

Recently, Cainan mentioned that his neck was sore. Like so many who serve, he pushed through the discomfort and kept working. When the swelling became severe, he finally sought medical attention. What we hoped was a simple infection quickly became something far more serious.

After multiple tests and emergency imaging, doctors discovered a large mass in his neck and chest. He was immediately admitted and taken into surgery. No family is ever prepared to hear the word we heard: Cancer.

Because of the aggressive nature of the tumor, a chemotherapy port was placed immediately so treatment could begin as soon as possible. In just a matter of days, their lives changed forever.

Since then, Cainan has endured countless surgeries, scans, procedures, and tests as doctors work urgently to determine the best course of treatment. When his port was initially placed incorrectly, the resulting complications nearly cost him his arm. By God’s grace, a new surgeon recognized the mistake in time. Biopsy after biopsy has come back “inconclusive,” leaving this family still waiting for answers about what is causing the rapidly growing tumor.

Through it all, Cainan has shown incredible courage, strength, and unwavering faith. Even in the face of fear and uncertainty, he carries himself with the same quiet resilience that has always defined his life.

Cainan is a fighter. He is a protector.

Cainan and Haley have stood beside so many families in their time of need. They have helped others rebuild and recover. Now it is our turn to stand beside them.

The road ahead will be long, filled with treatments, recovery, and time away from work. Our hope is to ease the financial burden so they can focus fully on what matters most: his fight, his healing, and their family.

We ask for your prayers, your support, and your help. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. It reminds them they are not fighting alone.

Cainan has spent his life protecting others. Now it is our turn to protect him.

With faith, love, and gratitude,
Lisa and Bob Martin

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. John 15:12-13 God, surround this precious family with your peace, strength, and healing power. Comfort their hearts in this season. Renew Officer Drew's body, calm his spirit, and remind his family that they are not alone. May Your presence be felt in every moment and may hope arise even in uncertainty. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
