On Aug. 27th Mel went to LMH for care, 9 days later she is still inpatient at the hospital. What started as a routine gallbladder surgery turned into infection. She is scheduled 4 more days in the hospital, 4-6 weeks of recovery several while still receiving tube feeding once she returns home. Her and her family have been intertwined in the Fire/EMS heavily providing support to several local communities. She is face with rising medical cost and not insurance. She works a full time as a paramedic, 2 part time jobs as a paramedic/firefighter, and volunteers much of her time to the communities she serves. During her stay she has no insurance, no income, and no funding to help her recover financially. She shouldn't need to worry about paying bills while fighting to recover.
