On June 4, 2024, Ross and Jennah Marsh welcomed their beautiful daughter, MacKenzie, into the world. What began as a typical newborn stay in the hospital quickly turned into a journey no parent ever expects. After MacKenzie’s jaundice persisted, she was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare liver condition that requires surgery. At just three months old, she underwent the Kasai procedure, which removed her gallbladder and bile ducts, connecting her liver directly to her small intestine in an effort to restore normal function.

Despite initial hope, MacKenzie faced complications, including a bowel blockage that required emergency surgery. Over the next few months, her weight gain became a challenge, and she needed both a nasogastric tube and IV nutrition to survive. By December, after several hospitalizations, MacKenzie’s doctors confirmed the worst: her liver was failing, and she would need a liver transplant.

MacKenzie is currently hospitalized and undergoing evaluations, with her transplant scheduled for February 18, 2025. She’s receiving round-the-clock care as the Marsh family prepares for the next stage in her journey. Ross will be the one providing the transplant.

Ross and Jennah are doing everything they can to support MacKenzie, taking turns at the hospital while managing their home life and responsibilities. They’re deeply grateful for the support of their fire department families, but the financial strain is mounting with hospital stays, commuting, and unexpected medical expenses. Any donation would help ease their burden as they focus on their daughter’s health and recovery.

The Marsh family is eternally thankful for the kindness and generosity shown so far and humbly asks for your continued support in this difficult time.
