Gardiel was hired by the Monterey Park Police Department as a Police Officer Recruit on January 31st of this year. He attended the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy in February and graduated on July 22nd. Officer Solorio was sworn in on July 23rd and began field training on July 25th.
