On February 1, 2023, State Trooper, McCrary Johnstone, suffered life changing injuries while serving in the line of duty on a routine traffic stop in Texas.
McCrary is a loving husband, father, son, friend and partner to all who know him. No one can escape his uncanny wit, charm and ability to make people laugh.
McCrary started serving his community in 2011 with the Spartanburg City Police Department. He served his community for five years on motors, the K9 Tracking Team, the Swat Team, Honor Guard and was a Field Training Officer. In August 2016, McCrary and his wife Jill, moved from Spartanburg, SC to Texas. Since 2016, McCrary has served with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a state trooper. As a state trooper he has served with the Honor Guard and has served both Capital and Border Deployments. He is also on the District Crash Team and is a Field Training Officer.
McCray and Jill were blessed with a beautiful baby girl in 2020. At just 5 months old, their beautiful baby underwent open heart surgery to repair a hole in her heart. Since her surgery, she is now a thriving three year old with an abundance of energy and who McCray and Jill absolutely adore!
Due to the extent of his injuries, McCrary has already had one surgery and will need half a dozen more in order to lead a part of a normal life again. We found out a few days ago that the nerve damage to McCrary's wrists is permanent. With the closest surgeon's that are able to treat McCrary being four and six hours away from their home, you can imagine the huge financial burden that this has created for this family. Adding to that, being in a car for that long leaves McCrary in excruciating pain.
If you are able, please consider giving to help cover the unexpected costs related to McCrary's injuries while serving in the line of duty.
If you are unable to contribute monetarily, we ask that you please consider keeping McCrary, Jill and their beautiful daughter in your prayers.
