Investigator Robert “Geoff” Stites has proudly served the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department since October 2005, dedicating nearly two decades to protecting and serving our community. Geoff is not only a respected colleague but also a devoted husband and father.

In April of this year, during a routine CT scan for an unrelated issue, doctors discovered an unexpected anomaly in the right temporal lobe of his brain. A follow-up MRI confirmed the presence of a tumor, which was suspected to be malignant. On June 5th, Geoff underwent a craniotomy to remove the tumor. Biopsy results confirmed the diagnosis: Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a rare and highly aggressive form of brain cancer.

Geoff now faces the challenging road ahead as he begins intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. While he remains hopeful and determined, the physical, emotional, and financial toll of this diagnosis is immense.

We are rallying together to support the Stites family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go directly toward helping with unforeseen medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and providing the family with some much-needed peace of mind as they navigate this fight.

Geoff has spent his career serving others—now it’s our turn to serve him. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps lighten the load for the Stites family as they focus on what matters most: healing, hope, and time together.

When our Children were in 3rd grade together in 2001 following 9/11 He spoke to our Nervous 3rd graders & parents. He was a Marine then. He told Us how Safe we were, How we lived in the safest place right here in Fallbrook protected by miles of Marines! To this Day When those Marines fly over or the Booms of practicing shake the house, I think of that Young Marine and how true those words were and still Bring peace in uncertain times. Now A Sheriff & Still Serving & protecting!
