Officer Eric Ney of the Clearcreek Township Police Department was shot in the face while responding to a domestic violence call in July and was severely injured. After two lengthy hospital stays and multiple brain surgeries for trauma sustained, Officer Ney finally came home in October, but he has a long road ahead of him.

Officer Ney will be taking a medical retirement and will not receive his full pension, while his wife, Lisa, has stopped working in order to take care of him. Officer Ney will need several additional surgeries, including ones on his eye and facial bones. He will also continue rehab/therapy.
