Michelle Hoffman is a 12-year veteran of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. Her career was cut short due to a serious back injury that will eventually require major surgery.

Michelle spent her whole life as an athlete, the majority of the time playing volleyball. The impact of decades of volleyball coupled with work being unforgiving to knees, have led to four knee surgeries with at least two more needed. Between being unable to bend more than 90 degrees and unable to squat down, a service dog would be ideal for mobility assistance and helping her with item retrieval.

After losing several former co-workers in the span of just a few years, PTS began to creep in as well. Her service dog will be task-trained to help with the symptoms of PTS so Michelle can begin to live a more normal life again.

Please help Michelle and her future Service Dog!
