Critical Incident

Police Officer Joe Nieves has been a member of the Yonkers Police Department for over 5 years previously serving with both The New Rochelle and New Castle Police.  On July 2023 Joe was involved in a serious motorcycle accident when a vehicle pulled an illegal U-turn in front of him striking him.  He was rushed to an area hospital where life saving measures were performed.  He was stabilized and placed in the ICU.

Joe is still currently in serious condition after surgery(s) and remains hospitalized.  At this point the extent of Joe’s injuries are not fully known and a timetable for a return to work is lengthy if a all.

Those of you that know Joe know that he is always the first to step up in a time of need and it is our chance to do the same for him.  Joe faces a very long recovery and rehab, the financial impact of which is starting to set in.  With unexpected medical costs starting roll in and a new born at home he needs our help.  Letβ€˜s take this opportunity to offer some relief and let Joe focus on a full recovery.  Any amount is appreciated.

On behalf of myself and my family I would just like to thank every person who donated, shared the donation, wished me well, was there and continue to be there for me and my family.I am back home recovering with my daughter and girlfriend. Words cannot express how grateful I am along with being forever indebted to each and everyone of you. I have a long road ahead but God willing I plan on making a full recovery and putting on the Yonkers Police Uniform again. Thank you Pete Mullen for organizing
