In the summer of 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to march with the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. From the moment I joined, the Cascades welcomed me with open arms, quickly becoming my second family. The experience was transformative, offering not only musical growth but also invaluable life lessons in teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
The Seattle Cascades, founded in 1966, are the Pacific Northwest’s oldest youth organization in the pageantry arts, representing our region for over 50 years. Their mission is to empower young people with opportunities to grow themselves and their communities through education, creativity, and performance excellence. Participating in this world-class corps not only hones musical skills but also instills self-confidence, leadership, and a deep sense of community.
Now, I have the chance to rejoin the Cascades for another season, and I am eager to continue this journey of personal and artistic growth. However, participating in the corps comes with significant financial costs, including tuition, travel, and equipment expenses. While I am committed to working part-time to contribute towards these costs, I am reaching out to my community for additional support.
