Henry Ratcliff, a lineman out of IBEW Local 304, has always answered the call—first as a U.S. Air Force veteran, and then as a dedicated lineman serving others. Now, after a serious injury and a battle with cancer, Henry needs our help.
In July 2021, while working in Southern California for Local 47 and PAR, Henry suffered a severe knee injury. What was first believed to be a torn meniscus was later diagnosed as a torn ACL. While waiting for surgery approvals, Henry received devastating news: he had cancer.
Henry fought hard and beat cancer, and in October 2023 he finally underwent knee surgery. Unfortunately, his knee did not heal properly. His ACL remains unstable, and he now requires a revision surgery. Workers’ compensation has denied this revision procedure and stopped his pay as of August 2025, claiming he has reached Maximum Medical Improvement.
Henry has been unable to work since January 2023. His savings have been exhausted, and he has relocated to Texas to reduce expenses while continuing to fight for the medical care he needs. Even with legal representation, the process has been slow, and Henry and his family are reaching a breaking point.
Henry is a husband, a father of two, and a stepfather to two U.S. Air Force servicemen. He loves paddle boarding, snowboarding, hiking, and traveling—activities he has been unable to enjoy for years. His wife works tirelessly, but it is not enough to keep up with mounting medical bills and living expenses.
Now, it’s our turn to answer the call for Henry.
