A family in our community, identified by our Patrol Officers and Neighborhood Patrol Officer teams, is facing unimaginable challenges, and we need your help to support them through this difficult time.
Recently, a father tragically passed away, leaving behind his 17-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. Their 22-year-old sister has stepped in to care for them while also raising her 2-year-old daughter. This young woman has become the head of the household, taking on the responsibility of guardianship and providing for her younger siblings.
With their mother estranged and not involved, the family is surviving on minimal social security income. Despite their difficult circumstances, they have not asked for assistance—officers discovered their needs during a recent call for service.
The family’s needs include:
