Deputy Taesha Higbee with Summit County Sheriff's Office was diagnosed with a brain tumor on November 10, 2023. Taesha underwent surgery on November 14, 2023, her medical team was only able to remove part of the tumor. This was a sudden diagnosis, and the exact nature of the tumor is still being determined; what is known is that she has a long road to recovery. Taesha is being treated at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, and her wife Jennie has not left her side.
Taesha is a School Resource Officer in the North Summit School District and one of our only female defensive tactics instructors. Taesha is dedicated to this profession, our community, and the students in North Summit. There has never been a time when Taesha was asked to do something that she did not do right the first time and to the absolute best of her ability often setting the bar for everyone around her. She is kind, caring, thoughtful, and represents the best of our profession! We are accepting donations which will go towards helping Taesha and Jennie with these expenses and allowing Jennie to stay by Taesha’s side during recovery. Thank you.
