On September 15th, Sgt Emil Stan’s son, David Stan, age 14, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. David began treatment at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant. David’s condition did not improve with treatment, and he was unable to obtain the bone marrow transplant. Doctors were unable to continue treatment with David at Loma Linda due to his worsening condition. David was transferred to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for a trial treatment that showed promising results for patients with his condition. David is currently undergoing inpatient treatment in Houston with his family by his side.
The family and Doctors hope is to have successful treatment in Texas and return to Loma Linda to undergo the bone marrow transplant.
