Trooper Oscar Loya is a 29-year-old Trooper stationed in Live Oak County. He has served in the Marine Corps and has three children.

He has been diagnosed with Germinoma Cancer and is starting treatment in Houston at MD Anderson. He has been on leave since June and since he has only 1 year service has run out of sick leave.

The DPS Troopers Foundation has started a Help-a-Hero campaign to raise money for his expenses while being treated in Houston. Help-a-Hero charges a fee up front, 100% of money raised will go to the Loya family. If you are able, please donate.

Prayers for the family are also appreciated!

This man made a commitment to all of us when he put on the uniform and the badge. This is the least I can do in his honor and to help his family. God's blessings on all....
