Special Agent Leopoldo โLeoโ Sanchez, a proud graduate of B-98 recruit school, currently serves with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and is stationed in Weslaco.
On April 29, 2025, SA Sanchez began experiencing severe respiratory distress and was admitted to a hospital in Weslaco, where doctors discovered a collapsed lung. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to a McAllen hospital, and due to further complications, he was flown by Air Med to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for a higher level of care.
SA Sanchez remains in critical condition. He is battling a collapsed lung and viral pneumonia. His recovery will require prolonged hospitalization and intensive, long-term medical treatment.
